Newport Polo: USA v. Jamaica…The horses, the hats, the gorgeous weather…

…Oh, and the Jamaican polo players…The Caribbean really knows how to produce…talent. *blink*

Seriously, it was a little difficult to keep the focus once their helmets were off and they were walking around sans horses.  (P.S. Not ignoring the players from the USA. No, not at all, but the Caribbean contingent really wanted the Jamaican players to know they were appreciated and supported.  Mad love to the island men.)

The Date:  August 17, 2013

The Location:  Newport (actually, Portsmouth), Rhode Island

The Teams:  USA and Jamaica (not Queens, the island in the Caribbean)

Presenting…Newport Polo in Photos (not necessarily in order).

Special Note: My apologies for some of the less than focused photographs included. Some photos were taken with my camera. Some with my mobile phone.  Also, please read/re-read the notice on this blog about the use/re-use of photographs.

P.S. If you missed my post from last year, read it –> here.  Definitely more photos this year. It helped immensely that we weren’t hiding under umbrellas during the pouring rain.

    • Actually, I’ve gotten so used to clarifying upfront that it doesn’t irritate me as much. What irritates me more is when I say I live in New York, the assumption by many is that I live in Queens or Brooklyn, like if you’re from the Caribbean, that’s where you’re supposed to live or where we all live. I live right outside the city and actually closer than many living on opposite ends of Manhattan, and definitely most who live in “the city” in parts of the outer boroughs like Jamaica, Queens. Ha, go figure.
